Music 2.0 Defined

A great video about the drive to open up the music industry and redefine the business of music to the benefit of artists and fans. What a concept.

Dan Wilson Talks About Free Life

I've quickly become a big Dan Wilson fan, and while his marketing and PR could use a little help (Dan, call me!), his songwriting is just perfect. Here's his "Electronic Press Kit" - basically, a discussion about Dan's brilliant new-ish release, Free Life. Enjoy.

Raining McCain

This is wrong on so many levels, but it's still fun.

Pat Metheny Trio Show How It's Done

The current lineup of the Pat Metheny Trio featuring Pat with drummer Antonio Sanchez and legendary bassist Christian McBride is a collection of positively mind-blowing players. Each one is a virtuoso able to transcend styles, influences and ideas to create incredibly unified, powerful and provocative music.

Their ample skills were on display this past Saturday at the Keswick Theatre as you'll see in the short videos below. Unfortunately, the lengthiest of the clips had to be deleted from the camera to appease the venue's security detail during a short but tense interaction at the end of the show. Luckily, these shots made it out of the venue and can now be enjoyed by others.

Pat Metheny usually plays over 100 shows per year. These clips should convince you to check him out next time he's in your area.

Google's Gifting My Favorite Video Camera

Most folks who know me know that I love that Flip video camera. Google's also taken a shine to it and they're sending it to some of their advertising partners as a Christmas gift, a tradition at the Mountain View, California-based company.

I'm going to see Gov't Mule on Friday, the 28th with my brother and a close friend. Keller Williams is opening the show. VERY psyched.

Dude

The Bud Light "Dude" commercial is hilarious! The 30-second version is all over the television; here is the longer, one-minute version.

Losing Lennon

Twenty-seven years ago today John Lennon was murdered in New York City. When John died we also lost the principles and beliefs that were a part of his music, his message and his life.
